License Utilization Report for Entra ID P1 and P2
Hi All,
Did you notice the new License Utilization Report in Entra ID?
Why has Microsoft created such a Report?
Maybe they see that Users without Entra ID P1 or P2 Licenses are using these Features and not paying for it. It might be that Microsoft will be more accurate in the Future and enforce Users to be licensed to use these Features. So prepare for it and have a look at the Reports.
The Report shows you how many Entra ID P1 and P2 Licenses you have and how much Users are using a P1 or P2 Feature.
I was wondering where the 5 Licenses from Entra ID P1 where coming from - i was only aware of four.
- 1x Microsoft 365 E3
- 3x Microsoft 365 F1
I still don’t like that Office 365 E1 and E3 Licenses don’t include Entra ID P1 Licenses. That should be the Standard. Maybe that’s the reason why only 38% of all Useraccounts use MFA
It turned out that “Microsoft Teams Shared Devices” also includes a Microsoft Entra ID P1 License.
Found this out by using parts of my Keep Track of new ServicePlans in M365 Licenses Script 😁
So what is the Diffrence between Entra ID P1 and P2?

If you exeed the Licenses check your Conditional Access if you use Risk Based Conditions.
