PowerShell v7.7.0-rc1 has been released

Hi All,

A few days ago, Microsoft has released the PowerShell v7.7.0-rc.1 on GitHub.

The interesting Part is, that there is no more MSI - this has been annouced here:

I’ve downloaded the ZIP File and extracted it to C:\Temp

I’ve extracted the Zip to C:\Temp

Extracted Folders and Files

Included Modules

  • CimCmdlets
  • Microsoft.PowerShell.Archive
  • Microsoft.PowerShell.Diagnostics
  • Microsoft.PowerShell.Host
  • Microsoft.PowerShell.Management
  • Microsoft.PowerShell.PSResourceGet
  • Microsoft.PowerShell.Security
  • Microsoft.PowerShell.ThreadJob
  • Microsoft.PowerShell.Utility
  • Microsoft.WSMan.Management
  • PackageManagement
  • PowerShellGet
  • PSDiagnostics
  • PSReadLine

Let’s run PowerShell 7.7.0-rc1 without a PowerShell Profile

start C:\temp\PowerShell-7.7.0-rc.1-win-x64\pwsh.exe -Noprofile

Let’s check the Version

$PSVersionTable
Get-Host

Let’s run PowerShell 7.7.0-rc1 with the PowerShell Profile.

My PowerShell Module still works M365PSProfile Module - find the Documentation here: GitHub Documentation

start C:\temp\PowerShell-7.7.0-rc.1-win-x64\pwsh.exe

M365 PowerShell Modules

Exchange Online PowerShell Module stoll does not work ☹️

Connect-ExchangeOnline -ShowBanner:$false -UserPrincipalName a.bohren@icewolf.ch
Connect-ExchangeOnline -ShowBanner:$false -UserPrincipalName a.bohren@icewolf.ch -DisableWAM

Microsoft.Graph PowerShell Module does not work ☹️

Connect-MgGraph -Scopes "User.Read.All" -NoWelcome

Seems like the Problem with ExchangeOnlineManagement and Microsoft.Graph are related to an old MSAL Library. Hopefully bumping MSAL from 4.90.0 to 4.92.0 solves the Problem
